Gerd Janson è uno dei DJ più rispettati nel mondo della house e della techno. Versatilità e professionalità sono alla base della sua musica priva di generi: nei suoi set si sentono spesso filtrare UK funky, synth pop, industrial. Insieme a Thomas Hammann tiene una residenza al club Robert-Johnson di Francoforte dal 2000. Nel 2010 hanno prodotto un CD per la serie di mix CD del club, ottenendo riconoscimenti dai media di tutto il mondo ed entrando nella classifica delle migliori compilation dell’anno di Resident Advisor. Solo nel 2013 ha suonato in Australia, Brasile, Israele, Giappone e Singapore, oltre a ricevere l’invito a diventare resident al Panorama Bar di Berlino. Tutto ciò è dovuto anche al suo lavoro come mente dietro l’etichetta Running Back, che ha ospitato numerosi artisti nel corso degli anni (come Tensnake, Todd Terje, Maurice Fulton, Theo Parrish). Ha collaborato con Philipp Lauer sotto lo pseudonimo di Tuff City Kids, con produzioni pubblicate su Unterton e Delsin, mentre con Francisco (anche lui presente al Festival) ha creato la label Edizioni Mondo. Il suo lavoro sia come DJ che come boss di un’etichetta è qualcosa che coglie di sorpresa. Qualità, senza essere appariscente. Meraviglioso, senza annunciarsi come tale.  Domenica 23, in prima assoluta al Dancity Summer Festival 2024, il suo b2b insieme con John Talabot.

Gerd Janson is one of the most respected DJs in the world of house and techno. Versatility and professionalism are the basis of his genre-free music: funky UK, synth pop, industrial can often be heard in his sets. Together with Thomas Hammann, he has held a residency at Frankfurt’s Robert-Johnson club since 2000. In 2010 they produced a CD for the club’s mix CD series, garnering accolades from media around the world and entering Resident Advisor’s best compilation of the year list. In 2013 alone he played in Australia, Brazil, Israel, Japan and Singapore, as well as receiving an invitation to become a resident at Panorama Bar in Berlin. This is also due to his work as the mastermind behind the Running Back label, which has hosted numerous artists over the years (such as Tensnake, Todd Terje, Maurice Fulton, Theo Parrish). He collaborated with Philipp Lauer under the pseudonym Tuff City Kids, with productions published on Unterton and Delsin, while with Francisco (also present at the Festival) he created the Edizioni Mondo label.
