Tutto è iniziato con la voglia di giocare con i suoni e il desiderio di saperne di più. Dopo diversi anni trascorsi tra libri, manuali, cavi patch e pasticci con un sintetizzatore autocostruito, Sibel Koçer aka JakoJako inizia a suonare i suoi primi set dal vivo a Berlino, spendendo ogni centesimo in moduli Eurorack. La passione diventa presto totalizzante e nel 2017 lascia la carriera di infermiera per lavorare presso l’istituzione berlinese del negozio di synth SchneidersLaden. Da lì in poi seguono diverse produzioni, due dischi su Leisure System che vanno rapidamente esauriti, remix per New Order e Martin Gore, tracce su BPitch, Tresor e Figure. Il suo album di debutto “Metamorphose” (2022) su Bigamo ha ottenuto il plauso della critica, inoltre JakoJako ha collaborato con Rødhåd per il nuovo album “In Vere” su WSNWG. Dopo aver trasmesso in streaming un live set con HÖR, è stata invitata a partecipare ad ARTE, Innervisions e United We Stream insieme a Âme e Frank Wiedermann. È stata anche coinvolta in diversi progetti di danza con sensori di movimento e in una straordinaria performance alla Royal Albert Hall con Bonobo. Ha suonato dal vivo al Berghain, dove è DJ resident. Di recentissima uscita (21 maggio 2024) il singolo “Modus”. Ogni suo brano è un esperimento, il cui successo si basa sull’intensità delle sensazioni che crea. Sabato 22 giugno il suo live al Dancity Summer Festival 2024.

It all started with a desire to play with sounds and a desire to learn more. After several years spent among books, manuals, patch cables and messing around with a DIY synth, Sibel Koçer aka JakoJako started playing her first live sets in Berlin, spending every penny on Eurorack modules. The passion soon became all-encompassing and in 2017 she left her career as a nurse to work at the Berlin synth shop institution SchneidersLaden. Several productions followed from there, two records on Leisure System that quickly sold out, remixes for New Order and Martin Gore, tracks on BPitch, Tresor and Figure. His debut album ‘Metamorphose’ (2022) on Bigamo received critical acclaim, and JakoJako also collaborated with Rødhåd on the new album ‘In Vere’ on WSNWG. After streaming a live set with HÖR, she was invited to participate in ARTE, Innervisions and United We Stream together with Âme and Frank Wiedermann. She was also involved in several dance projects with Motion Sensors and an extraordinary performance at the Royal Albert Hall with Bonobo. She has played live at Berghain, where she is resident DJ. Recently released (21 May 2024) is the single ‘Modus’. Each of his tracks is an experiment, whose success is based on the intensity of the sensations she creates. Her live show at Dancity Summer Festival 2024 on Saturday 22 June.
