In prima italiana al Dancity Winter Festival 2024 “Hypothetically Personal”, la nuova performance audiovisiva di Dasha Rush che scava nell’essenza dell’esistenza umana. L’opera esplora la dicotomia del nostro essere sia come entità biologiche sia come organismi complessi guidati dai misteri del subconscio. Un immaginario astratto evoca i percorsi neurali del cervello, giustapposti a forme organiche che ci ricordano la nostra natura fisica, mentre suoni ambientali e sperimentali imitano il flusso e il riflusso delle sequenze oniriche. “Hypothetically Personal” è un viaggio meditativo attraverso gli strati dell’identità umana, dal tangibile all’intangibile, che offre una prospettiva astratta sulla natura dell’essere. Sound artist, live performer, produttrice e DJ, Dasha Rush ama spingere i confini della musica contemporanea fino al limite, incoraggiando la sperimentazione con varie forme musicali (e non) attraverso innovativi progetti multidisciplinari.
Tra produzioni per etichette come Sonic Groove e Raster-Noton, nonché collaborazioni con pochi altri, la maggior parte del suo lavoro è stata pubblicata sulla propria label Fullpanda Records e sulla sub-label più sperimentale Hunger to Create. Dasha Rush considera il genere come un punto di partenza, non di arrivo. Il suo album per la Raster-Noton “Sleepstep” (2015) potrebbe essere una metafora del suo lavoro musicale: un riflesso delle zone intermedie che la sua musica spesso abita. Dubbiosa ma intensa, brutale ma tenera, nebbiosa ma chiara, “Sleepstep” è una meravigliosa massa di contraddizioni. Il suo lavoro audiovisivo, ispirato a temi scientifici, comprende progetti come “Antarctic Takt” (2014), “Aurora Cerebralis” (2019) e “Dark Hearts of Space” (2015). Nello spettacolo multidisciplinare “Les Territoires Ephemeres” del 2018 ha combinato diverse discipline artistiche come il butoh giapponese, il teatro, la poesia, la musica digitale e le immagini. È del 2023 l’ultimo album “Contemplating” (Raster-Media), un viaggio sonoro e trascendentale attraverso paesaggi eterei e texture coinvolgenti.

The Italian Premiere on Saturday 28 December at Dancity Winter Festival 2024 is ‘Hypothetically Personal’, the new audiovisual performance by Dasha Rush that delves into the essence of human existence. The work explores the dichotomy of our being both as biological entities and as complex organisms driven by the mysteries of the subconscious. Abstract imagery evokes the neural pathways of the brain, juxtaposed with organic forms that remind us of our physical nature, while ambient and experimental sounds mimic the ebb and flow of dream sequences. ‘Hypothetically Personal’ is a meditative journey through the layers of human identity, from the tangible to the intangible, offering an abstract perspective on the nature of being. Sound artist, live performer, producer and DJ, Dasha Rush likes to push the boundaries of contemporary music to its limits, encouraging experimentation with various musical (and non-musical) forms through innovative multidisciplinary projects. Between productions for labels such as Sonic Groove and Raster-Noton, as well as collaborations with a few others, most of her work has been released on her own label Fullpanda Records and the more experimental sub-label Hunger to Create. Dasha Rush sees the genre as a starting point, not an end point. Her latest album ‘Contemplating’ (Raster-Media), a transcendental sound journey through ethereal landscapes and immersive textures, was released in 2023.
